Games of the Day

Michael Wacha and Gio Gonzalez battle in Washington as the Cardinals continue their series with the Nationals. Wacha is in complete control early in the season with three walks and 18 strikeouts in his first 19 innings. The 22 year old is making a nice improvement over his short rookie season in 2013. Gonzalez dominated right-handed batters so far this year, with a .214/.286/.393 slash line allowed. In one of the more bizarre lines I’ve seen, Gonzalez allowed one double, one home run, and three triples!

Chris Tillman brings the Orioles into Boston to take on John Lackey. Tillman holds a 1-1 record in three starts despite an 0.84 ERA. He’s walked three and allowed 15 hits in 21 1/3 innings, but two of the four runs he allowed were unearned. Lackey allowed nine runs so far despite allowing five home runs. Only walking three batters helped there.

Enjoy!
