Sale on Top

Chris Sale pitches eight shutout innings against the Twins, lowering his ERA to 1.88. He also now pitched enough to qualify for the ERA title, and he moves ahead of Felix Hernandez in that race. The White Sox lead 7-0, so he should win to go 10-1 on the season.

If he wind up leading the league in ERA, it will be interesting to see how much the inning difference with Hernandez makes to the Cy Young voters. With this game, he should be about 20 Cy Young Tracker points behind the King.
