No Loss at Third

The Padres posted their largest margin of victory Wednesday night as they spanked the Cardinals 12-1. Yangervis Solarte went four for five, and in eight games replacing Chase Headley, Solarte owns a .364/.410/.606 slash line. So far, the trade worked for the Padres, as they replaced Headley’s offense at a much lower cost.

Joe Kelly of the Cardinals continues to suffer from a high BABIP, .330 this season. He walked one and struck out five in five innings against the Padres, but allowed seven hits. The Padres were 6 for 15 against him plus a home run, so when you put the ball in play against Kelly this season, good things happen.
