Shutout Thursday

Not counting the suspended game completion, which goes in the books as played on Tuesday, there were eight games played on Thursday. Five of those resulted in shutouts. There were two 1-0 games, including David Price’s lost one-hitter, a combined one-hitter by the Angels, a 2-0 game, a 3-0 game, and a 2-1 game. The Atlanta game against the Reds and the Giants game against the Cubs each resulted in eight runs, but the Braves won theirs 8-0. Tyson Ross is now 0-4 against the Dodgers this season, and holds a 2.67 ERA.

Yesterday was the lowest scoring day of the season period. The single game on March 30th produced four runs, the eight games yesterday averaged 3.88. There were 8.98 K per game, the fifth highest of the season, and the third highest if you eliminate the days with one or two games played. Just unbelievable.
