Fans of Red Sox broadcaster Jerry Remy will enjoy this look into the private life of one of the best broadcasters in the business. My favorite Jerry Remy moment, however, happened on field. Jerry was injured at the plate (I don’t remember if it was sliding in or he was hit by a pitch). He’s in terrible pain, and Jim Rice comes over, scoops Jerry up, and carries him off the field like Remy was a small child. You could tell how much Rice loved the guy, and it was also a nice reminder of how the big and small could be be successful in baseball.
After listening to other teams broadcasters, one realizes what a great team orsillo and remy are.
Guessing that was ’79, sliding into home plate vs. the Yankees?
Yes, that was it.
