The Marlins not only can’t be stopped, I don’t even thing you can contain them. For the second day in a row, they win in extra innings against the hapless, and everything else-less Nationals. Julian Tavarez takes the loss after a walk and an error set up a Hermida three-run homer, his second long ball of the game. Half the Marlins wins have come against the Nationals, but they also won 2 of three from the Mets. Florida’s four-game lead is the largest in the majors.
Correction: It was Hermida, not Gload, who hit the home run.
