    • We all know what a night out at the ballpark costs. While it may be "priceless", it's anything but that when the credit card bill arrives. A cash advance can help.

    Responding to a Brush Back

Brew Crew Ball puts together a nice video highlight of Saturday’s Cubs/Brewers game showing the Dempster brush back, the Braun home run and Bob Brenly’s reaction. Basically, Dempster threw a pitch near Braun’s head, which ended up hitting Ryan’s bat as he backed out of the way. On some replays in looked like it grazed his helmet, but clearly didn’t. In a later at bat, Braun homers, stares down Dempster, then celebrates a bit as he rounds the bases. Bob Brenly takes exception to this, suggesting that Braun might get hit in the ribs in the future.

Really? Would Brenly rather have Braun charge the mound, start a fight, and get players suspended? I would much rather see a batter take revenge by hitting a home run (or lining a ball back at the pitcher) than risking injury in a brawl. If Braun wants to rub a home run in Dempster’s face, it’s better than rubbing his fist into it.

The pitch that almost hit Braun was a breaking ball. No intent unlike the fast ball that drilled Theroit in the ribs.
