Ricky Nolasco came into the game with a 7.78 ERA and wastes no time in giving up his quota of runs. The Rays score eight times in the first two innings, five of those coming on home runs by Carlos Pena and Dioner Navarro. The Rays lead the Marlins 8-0 in the bottom of the second.
