    Gonzalez on Pace

Adrian Gonzalez launched his 18th home run of the season tonight. With 18 home runs in 47 games, he’s on a pace to hit 62 home runs this season. Raul Ibanez did not go deep tonight, so his pace is 61. For those of you who do not think Maris’s record was broken legitimately, you can root for these players. Gonzalez reaching 60 would be rather impressive, given the difficult dimensions of PETCO Park.
