The Mighty Gwynn

Tony Gwynn, Jr. found a nice new home at the top of the Padres batting order. His two hits and a walk today raised his OBA to .393, just what a team wants from their leadoff hitter. He was on base when Gonzalez hit his 20th home run of the season as the Rockies lose their first game under Jim Tracy, 5-2. The Padres came into the game with a .307 OBA from the leadoff slot overall, so Gwynn should help Gonzalez pick up a few more RBI with those homers.

Gonzalez currently projects to 65 home runs, given his current pace.
