    Meche Fixes the Mess

Gil Meche and an extra powerful Kansas City offense move back into fourth place in the AL Central with a 9-0 victory over the Indians. Meche easily pitched his best game of the season, striking out 11 and walking just three in seven innings of work. The Indians managed just four hits.

Meanwhile, the Royals launched three home runs off Carl Pavano as he allowed all nine runs in 4 2/3 innings of work. All in all, six of the 13 Royals hits went for extra bases. They Royals came into the game 11th in the AL in slugging percentage at .396.
