The Red Sox Don’t Have too Much Pitching

Daisuke Matsuzaka made the Red Sox decision about what to do with their extra pitching a little easier tonight. Dice-K allowed six runs in 4+ innings, raising his ERA to 8.23. He was wild, walking four. When he was around the plate, the Braves collected eight hits. Opponents are now hitting .378 against the Boston righty. All that pitching depth is about to pay off.

Meanwhile, Kawakami let the good times roll. He allowed just two runs in six innings as the Braves won 8-2. It was a good game for former Pirates as both McLouth and Bay homered.

    Richard,

Right, except for what the Yankees got as their consolation prize, Kei Igawa.

I’m guessing they’re going to find a way to put him on the 60 day DL, even if it takes sending Jeff Gillooly to do his thing. Something to keep him off the roster until they expand Sept 1 while keeping his postseason eligibility.

Does it bother you when Rob Neyer ganks your post in its entirety, rather that writing, “‘Daisuke Matsuzaka made the Red Sox decision about what to do with their extra pitching a little easier tonight,’ writes Dave Pinto,” with a hyperlink to your post? Then there might be a chance/reason for someone to actually visit. Neyer pull this kind of crap all the time, why don’t you or any of his other peers call him out on it? He’s so shameless that at this point the only reason I ever click on his links is to see just how badly he’s ripped one of you off.
