CC Sabathia and the Yankees are acting like the lefty’s arm is okay:
Sunday night Sabathia said he would play catch Tuesday and throw a bullpen Wednesday. Deleting the catch and going to the pen would be a positive step.
Asked if he was experiencing the dreaded “dead arm” sensation pitchers get during spring training around the 100-inning mark, Sabathia said that was possible.
“It feels dead but it’s only achy, no pain at all,” Sabathia said. “It gets sore between starts but never before in the game. I didn’t get (dead arm) in spring training.”
Judging by the Yankees not sending Sabathia for an MRI exam or the need to administer treatment away from the ballpark, the level of concern about their seven-year investment doesn’t appear high.
I’m very surprised he’s not at least going for some kind of imaging.
