    • We all know what a night out at the ballpark costs. While it may be "priceless", it's anything but that when the credit card bill arrives. A cash advance can help.

    Impressive Relief

The Dodgers defeated the Rockies Monday night by a score of 4-2 in 13 innings. The Dodgers bullpen posted one of the great relief performances of the year. In seven innings of work, not only did they keep Colorado off the scoreboard, they allowed just two hits (both by Jeff Weaver), walked one, and struck out 13. Most amazing to me was that Torre used seven different relievers for one inning each. At some point, someone might have a bad night, but it didn’t happen. Weaver game close as he allowed a double and single to start the 10th, putting a man at third with none out. He then struck out the next three batters. The Dodgers retired 12 in a row before Andre Ethier hit a two-run homer to win the game. James McDonald was the last man in for LA. Since he is a part-time starter, I assume he would have pitched for a while if the game continued.

Why was Jeff Weaver pitching one inning? I thought he was a starter?
