Yovani Gallardo lost to Mike Pelfrey and the Mets Wednesday afternoon by the lowest victory scored, 1-0. It’s the fourth time this season Gallardo was involved in a 1-0 game, and the first time he allowed a run in one. The Brewers are 2-2 in those starts. His start on 4/29 against the Pirates resulted in Gallardo winning the game with a solo home run.
Today, however, Luis Castillo doubled in the sixth, and Ryan Church drove him in. Pelfrey lasted into the 8th, with Sean Green and Francisco Rodriguez recording the last four outs. The Mets snap a five game losing streak and keep pace with the Marlins, who won earlier. The Mets offense still isn’t working, however, as they’ve scored 13 runs in the last six games.
