Someone just passed on to me a list of names of players who test positive for steroids in 2003. It’s the list that was used to leak Alex Rodriguez and Sammy Sosa’s name. I can’t confirm the source for the list, so I’m not publishing it, but if I have it, others do, too. Keep you eyes open.
Update: If you’ve read the comments, you’ll see that the list was debunked.

That’s the same list that’s gone around since before the Mitchell Report. Numerous sources have confirmed it’s a fake.

David…this list has been around most of the week.

Any indication as to the similarity to or dissimilarity to your list would be appreciated.

Is it the same one swirling about the internet earlier in the week? If so, well, I for one don’t buy it. It looks as if someone looked at every 2003 roster and named the best half dozen players on it…

Craig Calcaterra debunked it yesterday:

I really hope this list is a fake. I don’t know how I’m going to explain to my kid that his hero, Hector Almonte, is a cheat. He’s going to be crushed. Wait…who the hell is Hector Almonte?

Barry Bonds & Palmeiro, both on this new list, passed the 2003 steroid test, according to court records.

Real or fake, It’s amazing how there are almost no “nobodys” on that list.
