    • We all know what a night out at the ballpark costs. While it may be "priceless", it's anything but that when the credit card bill arrives. A cash advance can help.

    Walk Off Walks

Both the first run and last run in the Brewers/Cubs game scored on bases loaded walks. The Cubs won the game in the tenth when Jake Fox walked off Mark DiFelice. As you probably know from reading this blog, bases loaded walks are at their highest rate for the 35 year period in which we have complete play by play via Retrosheet. Despite that, there haven’t been that many walk off walks. This was only the sixth of the season. In 1997, 18 games ended on a walk, the most since 1974.

With two wins against the Brewers, the Cubs are starting to make their move. Suppan and Zambrano matched each other allowing one run over seven innings, but the Cubs bullpen allowed just one hit in their three innings of work, while Milwaukee gave up four hits and three walks. Seems like the Cubs should have scored more.
