  • Priceless

    • We all know what a night out at the ballpark costs. While it may be "priceless", it's anything but that when the credit card bill arrives. A cash advance can help.

    Breakfast on the Field

The Padres are going the extra mile to attract fans. They’re offering Sunday morning breakfast before games, served on the field:

“Breakfast at the Park” goes one step further, allowing fans to walk onto the diamond for coffee, orange juice, rolls, muffins, fruit and breakfast bowls from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Get egg on your face, in other words, before the players do.

The inspiration for this move came to Tom Garfinkel, the team’s new president and COO, one Sunday morning at Petco. Outside the ballpark, many folks were going out to breakfast. Inside the ballpark, many folks were … not.

The team hopes to change that. Eric Borgia, Petco Park’s executive chef, created new breakfast dishes, including a Southwest scramble and a bistro baguette egg sandwich. Also on the à la carte menu: Bloody Marys, mimosas and vodka lemonades.

Get hammered, in other words, before the players do.

    Maybe they should try winning.
