Perfecto Blemishes

Devon Young writes:

There are a few guys who pitched a no hitter that would’ve been a perfecto if not for an error. They are:

Terry Hullholland (August 15, 1990 …against the Giants)
Jerry Reuss (June 27, 1980 …against the Giants)
Dick Bosman (July 19, 1974 …against A’s)
Bill McCahan (September 2, 1947 …for A’s, against Senators)
Walter Johnson (July 1, 1920 …against Red Sox)
Nap Rucker (September 5, 1908 …for Dodgers, against Braves [then known as the Doves])
Christy Matthewson (June 13, 1905 …for Giants, against Cubs)

Huh? Bay area teams are involved in these so often…even before they were in SF Bay? LOL and what are the chances of that?!? And now Sanchez, pitching for the Giants… heh.

Thanks, Devon!

You’re welcome! It was too off topic for a Twins related blog, so I didn’t really want to write about it myself.

Simply calling Jonathan Sanchez’s performance a no hitter, is an understatement.
