Games of the Day

Marc Rzepczynski makes his fourth start as the Blue Jays host the Indians in an early afternoon game. Marc’s been wild, but effective with 11 walks in 18 innings but only five runs allowed. He’s kept his hits and extra-base hits allowed low, so the walks haven’t done much damage yet. David Huff takes the mound for Cleveland. His low walk rate isn’t enough to compensate for a .309 BA allowed and a .527 slugging percentage.

Luke French makes his fourth start for Detroit as he takes on Jarrod Washburn and the Mariners. He’s allowed two home runs, but both came after throwing at least 60 pitches. Washburn is posting a 1.82 ERA in July, and walked just three batters in 29 2/3 innings during the month.

Finally, Charlie Morton and Dan Haren face off in Arizona as the Pirates visit the Diamondbacks. Morton’s been effective for the Pirates, his low walk rate putting his OBA allowed at .313. Haren’s ERA came in below two in three of the four months of this season, with July’s number the best at 0.78. He’s walked 3 and struck out 24 in 23 July innings.

Enjoy!
