    • We all know what a night out at the ballpark costs. While it may be "priceless", it's anything but that when the credit card bill arrives. A cash advance can help.

    Garko A Giant

The Giants acquired Ryan Garko from the Cleveland Indians for a prospect. He’ll play first base. He’s not a great hitting first baseman, but he’s an upgrade. Dave Cameron has more on the deal.

He’s generally very consistent and seems to hit about the same in every situation: between .280-290, except that he hits left-handed pitching really well: .318 career, .333 in 2009. He’s also been a better 2nd half player (.300 vs. .267 for 1st half) and has good postseason numbers from his 1 appearance in 2007. It could be remembered as a really good trade that went under the radar.
