Evan Longoria hits his second home run of the game in the bottom of the 13th, a two-run, two-out shot that gives the Rays a 4-2 win over the Red Sox. The Rays close to four game behind Boston in the wild card.
This was a long game, taking five hours with very little scoring. The Rays put 18 men on base, the Red Sox 13. It seemed there were a lot of deep counts, and more than a few mid-inning pitching changes.
Seven of Longoria’s 23 home runs came against the Red Sox this season.
