It looks like the Rangers picked up Ivan Rodriguez.
Update: Here’s the post. Ivan really doesn’t hit anymore, but he’ll at least be able to spell Teagarden. No word on what the Rangers gave up to acquire him.
It’s odd that last winter the Rangers had catchers coming out of their ears, and now they seem to be scrambling to find a backup.

apparently you can’t have enough pitching (ask the red sox!) or catching (as the Rangers!).
They’re loaded with catchers, yes, but young and inexperienced catchers. The Rangers have proven to be a real contender this year, and a little experience behind the plate is a good thing. Or, in Pudge’s case, a LOT of playoff experience.
Great move by the Rangers.
He can spell Teagarden, but can he spell ‘Saltalamacchia’? Much harder.
