Since Nick Johnson joined the team on 8/1, the Marlins are 11-6 with him in the lineup, 8-10 without him. Johnson singled and scored in the first inning tonight as the Marlins took an early 4-0 lead on the Mets. If he avoids the injury and the Marlins go 11-7 during those 18 games he missed, they’re only three games out of first in the NL East. Johnson was a great pickup for the Marlins, but his injury history hurt as much as his bat has helped.
