    Power Pitching and Power Hitting

    The Reds down the Cardinals 7-2 behind Homer Bailey. The youngster allows one run over seven innings, walking one and striking out seven. He’s now given up 10 earned runs in 37 1/3 innings this September, good for a 2.41 ERA.

    Joey Votto and Jay Bruce provided the power, Bruce driving in five with two home runs and Votto adding a solo shot. Bruce is still an out machine, but he increased his power and RBI over last season.
