The Braves, Marlins and Giants all owe Jason Kendall a thank-you as he hits a three-run homer in the top of the ninth to tie the Rockies at five. It’s only his second home run of the season and raises his slugging percentage to .302. I think it’s safe to say the Rockies did not expect a home run at that point.
Update: The Rockies get a runner picked off in the bottom of the ninth and fail to score. The game is going to extra innings with the Brewers and Rockies tied at five.
Update: Chris Ianetta delivers in the 11th inning, a two-run homer and the Rockies walk off with a 7-5 win. That eliminates the Marlins from the playoff picture and means San Francisco can at best tie the Rockies for the NL Wild Card.
