    Mauer not 100%

Joe Mauer didn’t score on a single last night because he’s hurting:

Joe Mauer had caught 10 innings for Minnesota on Friday night as he stood on second base, representing the go-ahead run in the 11th inning. When Michael Cuddyer rapped a sharp single to center field, Mauer ran to third and did not try to score.

“I’m not feeling too well right now,” Mauer said. “I slowed up a little bit. We had our chances to win. We had the bases loaded.”

“Just not feeling great,” he said. “We got a playoff game. I got pretty banged up. What can you do?”

Jose Morales did a good job getting on base for the Twins this season, so if they decide to DH Mauer, they lose Kubel’s power, but he doesn’t hit lefties well anyway.
