Scott Eyre takes the mound for the save in the bottom of the ninth. Eric Young pinch hits.
Update: Young grounds out to shortstop. One down.
Update: Carlos Gonzalez comes to the plate.
Update: Gonzalez dumps a single into shallow left, a low pop up. He’s on first with one out for Dexter Fowler.
Update: Gonzalez’s 10 hits ties a Rockies record for most hits in the NLDS.
Update: Fowler breaks his bat and lines out softly to shortstop. The season comes down to Todd Helton.
Update: Helton singles up the middle, but Gonzalez stumbles going for second and doesn’t try for third. The Phillies are bringing in Brad Lidge to face Troy Tulowitzki.
Update: Lidge got Tulowitzki to pop out Sunday night to end the game.
Update: Brad gets ahead of Troy 1-2. He throws a ball that Troy almost offers at, then throws another that dips outside the strike zone and Troy swings and misses. The Phillies advance to the NLCS by a final score of 5-4.
The Phillies win the series three games to one, and a big difference was the selectivity of the two teams. Philadelphia drew 19 walks, the Rockies 10. The power hitters in the middle of the order were just great, Utley, Howard, Werth and Ibanez all either getting on base well or hitting for power well. The 2009 NLCS will be a rematch of last year’s series between the Dodgers and Phillies, starting Thursday in Los Angeles. Congratulations to the Phillies on the dramatic win!

Three sweeps and 1 series that went 4 games-and despite what appears to be an early winter weather-we have to wait to Thursday and Friday? Some thing is wrong with this picture.
