    • We all know what a night out at the ballpark costs. While it may be "priceless", it's anything but that when the credit card bill arrives. A cash advance can help.

    The Mathis Mash

Jeff Mathis doubles off the wall in left-center leading off the bottom of the tenth. Phil Hughes puts himself in a bit of trouble. Girardi goes to Rivera to save the tie.

Update: Rivera never learns. On the bunt by Aybar, Posada points to third and Rivera throws it into the ground past A-Rod. Damon backs up the play, and the Angels have runners at first and third with no one out. Now the Angels have two chances to drive in the runner with an out.

Update: Figgins smashes one to Teixeira, who dives to make the stop. Mathis held at third. The Yankees will walk Abreu to load the bases for Hunter.

Tim McCarver makes a good point about pinch running for Mathis with Willits. Why not put the fastest runner you can at third?

Update: Girardi takes out Damon and replaces him with Hairston, and the Yankees lose the designated hitter.

Update: Rivera falls behind Hunter 2-0.

Update: Rivera comes back to even the count 2-2 on a taken and swinging strike.

Update: Hunter grounds to Teixeira, who throws home to get the force at the plate. Now it’s up to Guerrero. The Angels fail to get the run home with a man on third and nobody out. Now they need a hit, wild pitch, or an error.

Vlad grounds out to Teixeira at first, and Rivera gets the Yankees out of the inning. Wow. They’ll go to the 11th tied at four.

Check out Rivera spitting on the ball as he comes in to face Aybar in the 10th. Maybe that’s why he threw the ball away.
