The Other Pedro

Joba Chamberlain comes into the game and over powers Werth and Ibanez for the first two outs. Pedro Feliz, however, gets a hold of an pitch inside and pulls it for a solo home run, and the Phillies and Yankees are tied at four. Feliz is 3 for 4 tonight to raise his series average to .267.

Update: Chamberlain gets Ruiz and the Yankees come to bat in the top of the ninth in a tie game.

Update: Brad Lidge comes on in the ninth, and Hideki Matsui pinch hits for the pitcher.

Update: Matsui and Jeter go down, but Damon singles to left to keep the inning alive for Teixeira. Mark is hitting .071 in the series.

Update: Damon steals second against the shift, and takes third when the throw goes to the first base side of second and he realizes in can beat Feliz in a foot race. Great play by Johnny.

Update: Lidge hits Teixeira, but doesn’t get tossed. The benches were warned in the first inning after A-Rod was hit.

Update: Alex Rodriguez hits a shot off the wall in left. Damon scores on the double, and the Yankees lead 5-4. That could turn out to be the big hit of the series.

Update: Posada singles in two but gets thrown out a second. The Yankees give Mariano Rivera a 7-4 lead to preserve (I assume it’s Rivera coming in).
