Pedro Martinez walks Alex Rodriguez on four pitches to start the second. He then battles Matsui for eight pitches, and on a 3-2 count, Godzilla blasts a ball down the line for a two-run homer. He homered off Pedo in game two as well, and really seems to be Martinez’s nemesis in the post season. The Yankees lead 2-0.
Update: Pedro retires the next three batters to keep the score 2-0 at the end of two. The Yankees are also making Martinez work, as he’s thrown 37 pitches. Pettitte threw just 24 through two innings.
