    No Love in Congress

Seventeen congressmen voted against congratulating the Yankees on their World Series win.

Have New York congressmen voted no on such resolutions in the past? Seems rather petty.

I’d prefer my congressman vote no on this sort of crap or at least pull an Obama and just vote present. It is like having a rich neighbor and congratulating him on having a better car.

The gracious thing to do is to congratulate the players. So in Largebill’s Strange Analogy World, that would be congratulating the car.

More of the nays came from southern California than from New England. I don’t count “presents” or “not votings” as nays because these resolutions are so silly. Only two nays came from New England and only one from the Philadelphia area. I can’t make any sense of the pattern.

Were there any nays on the resolutions congratulating the Phillies and the Red Sox? I can’t figure out why you would take the trouble to vote “no” on this sort of thing.
