    • We all know what a night out at the ballpark costs. While it may be "priceless", it's anything but that when the credit card bill arrives. A cash advance can help.

Going for the Low Price on Varitek

The Red Sox declined the $5 million option on Jason Varitek, but the catcher can stay with Boston by exercising his $3 million player option (he can make up the difference in incentives). Unless Victor Martinez gets hurt, there’s little chance of Jason meeting the incentives.

I wouldn’t mind seeing the captain go to a team with a developing pitching staff. He would be very good for a team like the Marlins or even the Brewers. No offense, but he’ll call a good game and give the pitchers some confidence in throwing pitches in the dirt.

Via MetsBlog.com, who is afraid that the Mets might sign Jason if he becomes a free agent.
