  • Priceless

    • We all know what a night out at the ballpark costs. While it may be "priceless", it's anything but that when the credit card bill arrives. A cash advance can help.

    The King Stays

    Felix Hernandez is not available:

“Felix is our property. We’re going to have him for the next two years and we’re looking forward to having him beyond that,” Zduriencik said here at the GM meetings.

Zduriencik has told GMs the same thing, as Seattle is endeavoring to lock up the 23-year-old star beyond his free-agent years, which could begin as soon as 2012. It isn’t known how any talks along those lines are going. But it’s clear Seattle wants to give it a full chance. Mariners people believe Hernandez is not a big injury risk since he has sound mechanics.

Good. Teams that draft and develop stars like Hernandez should hold on to them for a long time. Of course, taking him off the table might help drive the price up, too.

Being slightly nitpicky: King Felix was signed as a Venezuelan free agent, not drafted.

As I’m from Seattle it’s good to hear this news. We have been the farm tea for the rest o the league plenty of times. Griffey, Randy Johnson, Rodriguez, Ibanez… Makes me mad just writing those names. :)
