    • We all know what a night out at the ballpark costs. While it may be "priceless", it's anything but that when the credit card bill arrives. A cash advance can help.

Players A to Z, Brian Anderson

Brian Anderson plays centerfield in a reserve role for the Boston Red Sox. Anderson was a long time up and coming prospect for the Chicago White Sox who never seized the opportunity to prove himself in the majors. He rose very quickly through the White Sox system, hitting well in Rookie Leauge and A ball, but never well above that. His career slash line of .227/.290/.370 is quite poor for any position. Someone that low on offense needs to supply a great deal of defense, and Anderson failed at that the last three seasons as well. He did produce 17 outstanding at bats for the Red Sox in 2009 with five hits, two homers, and seven runs scored, but no one should be fooled by that small sample size. Anderson’s 2009 was his age 27 season. He’s now at the age where prospects who didn’t make it fall out of the majors. I don’t expect to see him play much anymore.

Uh, Sean, no one is making you read a damn thing. If you don’t want to read 30 seconds worth of words on every player, don’t. It really is that simple.
David, I say keep up the good work and I personally love the A to Z series.

I also love the A to Z series.

I confess I am skimming through some of the bench players on teams like the Royals and Padres. If I was still doing rotisserie, I would be cutting and pasting this stuff into a word document. Its also nice keeping an eye out names of people you don’t know now but could well start hearing about in the future.
