    Shunning Chone

    The Phillies are not going after Chone Figgins to replace Pedro Feliz. They don’t want to pay him $50 million over five years. Figgins is on the wrong side of 30, and his strength, his OBP tends to bounce around from year to year. But $50 million over five years seems to be very reasonable for the offense and defense they’d be getting. Busting their budget for Figgins would increase the odds of the team returning to the World Series.
