Jeff Bennett pitched in relief for the Tampa Bay Rays. He was designated for assignment on Dec. 1st, potentially making him a free agent. Bennett’s career as a pitcher can be summed up as too many walks and too few strikeouts. That was especially obvious in 2009 as he struck out 27 and walked 32 in 46 2/3 innings combined with the Braves and Rays. He’ll play as a 30-year-old in 2010, and my guess is the righty does not see much action in the majors leagues in the upcoming season.
