Players A to Z, Jesus Colome

Jesus Colome pitched for the Washington Nationals and Milwaukee Brewers in 2009. Both teams released him and he currently looks for work as a free agent. Colome’s walk rate and home run rate were better than his career averages, and his strikeout rate was just a little worse. Yet, he gave up a ton of hits, and that was enough to remove him from two teams. It seems that he wasn’t walking anyone because he was just too easy to hit.

We’ll see if a team looks at the K,BB and HR rates and decides to take a chance on him. After his poor 2009 season, a team might be able to sign him very cheaply.
