The Royals signed Scott Podsednik to play centerfield. Any hope I once had that Dayton Moore knew what he was doing is gone. Podseknik had a pretty good 2009, but in the three previous season he played below replacement level. His defense is poor, and he’s being put in an important defensive position.
If you’re a GM, ask yourself, “What would Dayton Moore do?” then do the opposite.
As long as the dollar amount isn’t bad, this really isn’t too bad of a signing. Good speed. Bad ops though. Meh, not like the royals matter anyways
Hell, I liked Pods both stints with the Sox, but as a starting CF?
I really don’t understand how he’s still a GM. I honestly believe a number of no-experience Royals bloggers are capable of doing a better job than Moore.
