Players A to Z, Ramon Colon

Roman Colon pitches in relief for the Kansas City Royals. Colon returned to the majors after a two-year absence. He didn’t improve much, striking out fewer batters per nine innings and walking more. His 4.83 ERA was very much in line with his 4.97 career mark.

His biggest weakness comes from allowing home runs. He only at 177 1/3 career innings, but he’s already allowed 30 homers. His seven in 50 innings this season was only a slight improvement on that.

Without the ability to strike out tons of batters, Colon needs to keep his walks and home runs low, but this year did neither.
