The Yankees complete their team for 2009 with the signing of Randy Winn. Winn will play 2010 as a 36-year-old coming off a bad year. I suspect his OBP will bounce back some, but I don’t expect him to be around .350. Then again, he’ll be in a good lineup, one that values getting on base, so maybe he’ll do better than expected. It’s not clear if he’ll play ahead of Brett Gardner; we’ll see how that shakes out as the season goes on.
Johnny Damon won’t be playing for New York in 2010.
It’s actually funny you use “Winn-ing Team” in your title because I believe Winn has the current active streak for most Major League games without a postseason appearance.
