Silva in the Rotation

Carlos Silva made the Cubs rotation. Over the last four seasons, Silva pitched poorly. In fact, the only season he pitched well, 2005, he put up a ridiculously low walk rate, 9 in 188 1/3 innings. With his lack of strikeouts, lots of balls get up in play, and the Cubs did not have the best defense last season. I’m guessing he’s just a stop gap to Lilly, but I’ll be surprised if he makes it to Ted’s return.

Good news for Tiger fans, it appears Joel Zumaya is back. He just struck out the side against the Yankees (including Curtis Granderson) with his last pitch hitting 101 mph (depending on if you believe the radar gun)
