Valuing Pujols

J.C. Bradbury does the math and finds that Albert Pujols, if valued at the same rate as Ryan Howard, is worth $51 million a year.

By the way, where is the hue and cry from the other owners about this? When Hicks overpaid Alex Rodriguez, everyone was in a tizzy. I’ve seen the sabermetricians complain about this, but have other owners? I would think they would be pretty upset, since the Phillies just raised the price of buying a win.

Because he’s not A-Rod? It seems Alex is a controversy magnet, whether he wants to be one or not.

Pujols will be able to pick and choose what he wants.

With no salary cap, he will get whatever he wants which will be $30M per…..for 4-5 years…wouldn’t shock me if there is an option for a 5th
