Mike Cameron returns to the disabled list as his abdominal tear widens:
For now, he will go on the disabled list in the hopes that rest and rehab will allow him to return to the roster. If not, he would need season-ending surgery. The surgery is such that Cameron could have it after the season and still be ready for spring training, so there is no rush to make a decision.
On top of that, Jacoby Ellsbury is still not ready to play. It’s been a tough year for the Red Sox and injuries.
Update: This should give you an idea of what the Red Sox lose when Cameron isn’t in the lineup. Daniel Nava, on the other hand, hit well as the Boston leftfielder.
