More Strain for Strasburg

Stephen Strasburg strained a forearm tendon and will miss his next start. He’ll likely wind up on the disabled list.

I suppose it could have been a lot worse. It’s not his elbow, and it’s not the Tommy John ligament.

Update: It’s official, Strasburg hits the DL. They’ll perform more tests on him, including injecting contrast dye.

Regardless of the outcome this time, I’m concerned that he will need to change his motion in order to stay in major league baseball.

If he can–a big if–that could effectively end the career of Strasburg the Star, if not Strasburg, period.

Wonder if we have any similar cases.

Ligament problems requiring TJ surgery are frequently misdiagnosed as a forearm strain, as with Liriano.
