The Royals vanquished Billy Butler’s arbitration years with a four-year, $30 million deal. He’s the best hitter on the team, and just entering his prime as he’ll play 2011 as a 25-year-old. Billy improved his numbers each year with the Royals and would have been worth over $10 million in each of the last two season on the free agent market. This is a wise signing by Kansas City, as Billy should be at his peak when the farm system starts producing.
