Sizemore Comes to Life

Scott Sizemore continued his hot hitting for the Oakland Athletics as he reached base three times Thursday afternoon and scored three runs in the 8-4 A’s win over the Royals. He is now 10 for 24 with four walks in his time with Oakland, good for a .500 OBP. I wonder how much longer he needs to keep up a high OBP for the A’s to move him to the top of the order?

The Rangers are keeping everybody else in the AL West race, including the A’s. Oakland was a trendy preseason pick, and I thought they would at least contend.

But the team just hasn’t hit at all. Willingham “leads” the regulars with a .714 OPS. Even in 2011 that won’t get it done.

The club still has the pitching, first in the league in staff ERA. So if they get any offense at all, they could win. Only six out right now.
