The Dodgers lack of attendance will reduce revenue by about $27 million this season. That’s money they could use to sign Prince Fielder.

Thats what happens when you have injuries and players who do not perform as expected with the highest payroll in Dodgers history. Fans want to see team that win. The Dodgers have made the playoffs 4 of 7 years, but this won’t be one of them.
Fielders going to be looking for 150 million, so I doubt 2011 revenue performance will affected any decision to sign him. In investments of this magnitude what is importatnt is future revenue projections. Too bad MLB blocked the TV deal then maybe the Dodgers would be in a better position to sign Fielder.
Also, the Dodgers pay revenue sharing so a loss of 27 million in attendance revenue is probably only 18 million on a net basis
