Linder Passes

Former Reds owner Carl Linder died Monday:

He took over control of the Reds from controversial owner Marge Schott and was mostly known for completing the deal for Ken Griffey Jr. from the Seattle Mariners in 2000, even picking Griffey up at the airport from his own private jet in his Rolls-Royce.

The Griffey deal looked like a bargain at the time, but injuries lessened Ken’s effectiveness. The Reds hit decently during his ownership, but opponents hit much better.

My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
