Joe Maddon and Kirk Gibson won Manager of the Year in the AL and NL respectively, each running away with the vote. Kirk received 28 of 32 first place votes, Ron Roenicke and Tony La Russa collecting the other four in the National League. Maddon took home 26 of 28 votes in the American League, although he was left off one ballot. Jim Leyland and Ron Washington rounded out the top three.
